This paper explores the transformative role of e-government in enhancing economic efficiency and
fostering national development. In the digital age, governments worldwide are increasingly leveraging
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to modernize public administration, improve service
delivery, and strengthen governance. By examining key theoretical frameworks, reviewing a wide body of literature, and analyzing case studies from countries such as Estonia, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom, this study highlights the multifaceted benefits of digital public services. These include streamlined administrative processes, reduced corruption, increased transparency, cost savings, and broader access to essential services. Moreover, the paper investigates the challenges that accompany e-government implementation, such as the digital
divide, cybersecurity risks, institutional inertia, and inadequate legal frameworks. The findings underscore the critical importance of strategic and inclusive e-government policies in achieving sustainable development goals, promoting inclusive economic growth, and boosting public sector productivity. To realize the complete benefits of e-government in fostering national growth, the study ultimately points to the critical significance of sustained innovation, strengthened public institutions, and effective regulatory systems.
